- The section is found by its heading and returned as text, up to 20,000 characters. When the proxy repeats the heading in its table of contents, the longest matching section is kept.
- Companies without a DEF 14A on EDGAR, or whose section uses an unusual heading, return a 400 error.

How do I find the proxy filings for a company?
Search the filing index for formType DEF 14A.

How do I scan many companies for family employment disclosures?
Call the endpoint per ticker and search text for words such as daughter, son, spouse or employed.

Why do I get a 400 for some companies?
The company has no DEF 14A, or its section uses a heading the parser does not recognize. Read the proxy directly with /v1/extractor or full-text search.

Can I use a CIK instead of a ticker?
Yes. Pass cik; it also accepts a ticker.

How long can the text be?
Up to 20,000 characters, enough for the full section in most proxies.

Does it cover foreign private issuers?
No. They do not file DEF 14A proxies; their related party disclosures are in Form 20-F, which you can read with the section extractor or full-text search.

How do I link a disclosure to the people involved?
Combine it with /v1/directors and /v1/executive-compensation for the same accession to get names and roles.

Errors
- 400 "unknown ticker X" for an unknown ticker.
- 400 "no related person transactions section found" when the section cannot be located.
