Export SEC filing search results to CSV
Turn any EDGAR filing search into a CSV file for Excel, Google Sheets or pandas, using the /v1/filings/csv endpoint.
Sometimes you want filings in a spreadsheet, not JSON. /v1/filings/csv takes the same query as /v1/filings and returns CSV with one row per filing.
This example exports every S-1 registration statement filed in September 2026, a quick way to see the IPO pipeline for a month.
The request
import csv
import io
import os
import requests
BASE = "https://secfeedapi.com"
HEADERS = {"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SECFEED_KEY']}"}
q = 'formType:"S-1" AND filedAt:[2026-09-01 TO 2026-09-30]'
r = requests.get(f"{BASE}/v1/filings/csv", params={"query": q, "size": 200}, headers=HEADERS, timeout=120)
r.raise_for_status()
open("s1-september-2026.csv", "w").write(r.text)
rows = list(csv.DictReader(io.StringIO(r.text)))
print(len(rows), "rows; columns:", list(rows[0].keys()))
for row in rows[:5]:
print(row["filedAt"], row["ticker"] or "-", row["companyName"])
Output:
72 rows; columns: ['accessionNo', 'cik', 'ticker', 'companyName', 'formType', 'filedAt', 'linkToFilingDetails', 'linkToTxt']

Columns
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
accessionNo | Unique EDGAR filing id |
cik | Filer CIK |
ticker | Ticker when the filer has one (new IPO candidates often do not) |
companyName | Filer name |
formType | Form type |
filedAt | Filing date |
linkToFilingDetails | EDGAR filing index page |
linkToTxt | Full text submission |
Open it in pandas or a spreadsheet
import pandas as pd
df = pd.read_csv("s1-september-2026.csv", dtype={"cik": str})
Read cik as a string if you want to keep it as an identifier. In Excel or Google Sheets, import the file directly.
Limits and paging
One CSV request returns up to 200 rows. For larger exports, page with from or narrow the date range and loop month by month. For full history at scale, the bulk datasets are more efficient.
Ideas
- Monthly S-1 and F-1 counts as an IPO market indicator
- Every 8-K filed by a watchlist, for an analyst's morning review
- A list of companies that filed a 10-K/A (amended annual report) this year
