What is N-PORT?

Form N-PORT is the structured portfolio report of registered funds other than money market funds. Each public filing lists every holding of a fund series with identifiers, value, percentage of net assets and classification, plus fund level flows, returns and risk metrics.

It replaced the old Form N-Q in 2019 and is filed in XML, so it is the cleanest source for fund holdings, ETF constituents and derivative exposure across the whole US fund industry. Public filings cover the last month of each fiscal quarter.

Who files

Registered management investment companies and ETFs organized as unit investment trusts, except money market funds (which file N-MFP) and small business investment companies.

When it is filed

Public N-PORT reports for the third month of each fiscal quarter are available on EDGAR 60 days after quarter end. The SEC has adopted amendments that move toward monthly public filing; check current compliance dates.
