CIK, CUSIP and Ticker Mapping API: resolve any SEC company identifier

Map tickers to CIKs, CIKs to tickers, CUSIPs to issuers and names to companies. List companies by exchange or SIC industry.

curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $SECFEED_KEY" \
  "https://secfeedapi.com/v1/mapping/ticker?ticker=BRK-B"
import os, requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://secfeedapi.com/v1/mapping/ticker",
    params={'ticker': 'BRK-B'},
    headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SECFEED_KEY']}"},
)
print(r.json())

Overview

SEC data is keyed by CIK, market data by ticker and holdings data by CUSIP. The Mapping API translates between them, using the SEC's daily ticker and exchange file for tickers and the CUSIPs reported in 13F holdings for securities.

Search companies by name, list every company on NYSE, Nasdaq, CBOE or OTC, or every company with a given SIC code. All lookups are fast and keyless on your side: one call, one answer.

FAQ

Where do the CUSIPs come from?

The SEC does not publish a CUSIP list. SecFeed learns CUSIP to issuer pairs from 13F information tables, which report a CUSIP for every holding.

How current are the ticker mappings?

They come from the SEC's ticker and exchange file, which the SEC updates daily.
