Form N-2 is the registration statement for closed end funds, including interval funds and tender offer funds, and for business development companies (BDCs) that lend to private businesses. It describes the strategy, fees, leverage and risks, much like a mutual fund prospectus.
Private credit funds opening to individual investors have made N-2 filings far more common.
