Form 40-F lets eligible Canadian companies satisfy their US annual reporting duty with the documents they already prepare for Canadian regulators. It is part of the multijurisdictional disclosure system (MJDS) adopted by the SEC and Canadian securities administrators in 1991. The 40-F itself is a short wrapper; the substance is in the attached Canadian annual information form, MD&A and audited financials.
