Connect SecFeed to VS Code

VS Code supports remote MCP servers in Copilot agent mode. Put the config in .vscode/mcp.json; the input prompt keeps your key out of the file.

Uses the client's documented remote MCP configuration. Tell us at support@secfeedapi.com if anything has changed.

You need a SecFeed API key: create one free, then replace YOUR_KEY below.

1. Add .vscode/mcp.json

VS Code asks for the key the first time the server starts and stores it securely.

json
{
  "inputs": [
    {
      "type": "promptString",
      "id": "secfeed-key",
      "description": "SecFeed API key",
      "password": true
    }
  ],
  "servers": {
    "secfeed": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://secfeedapi.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:secfeed-key}"
      }
    }
  }
}

2. Start the server

Click Start above the server entry in mcp.json, or run MCP: List Servers from the command palette.

3. Ask in agent mode

Open Copilot Chat, switch to Agent, and the SecFeed tools are available.
