NSAR-U was the unit investment trust version of Form N-SAR, the investment company census report. It captured the trust's sponsor, trustee, number of series, assets and sales activity in a fixed set of numbered items.
Form N-SAR was rescinded in the SEC's 2016 investment company reporting modernization; unit investment trusts now report on Form N-CEN. The last NSAR-U filings were made in early 2019.
