When a fund liquidates, merges or otherwise stops operating, it applies on Form N-8F for an order under Section 8(f) of the Investment Company Act declaring that it has ceased to be an investment company. N-8F ORDR is the EDGAR record of the resulting SEC order.
Orders are issued in batches, so many funds receive their deregistration order on the same day. Together with N-8F applications and notices, the type traces the end of a fund's registration.
Recorded under the fund that applied for deregistration; the order is issued by the SEC.
After the notice period on the fund's N-8F application ends, typically weeks after the notice.
