SUPPL is the EDGAR submission type for voluntary supplemental material filed by foreign issuers under Section 11(a) of the Securities Act. In practice it is used heavily by Canadian issuers in the multijurisdictional disclosure system, who file the prospectus supplements for their shelf takedowns this way.
That makes SUPPL a useful feed of cross-border offerings: each filing typically names the securities offered, the pricing and the underwriters for a specific takedown.
Foreign issuers, most often Canadian companies registered on Form F-10 or other MJDS forms.
When the issuer has supplemental material to file, typically at each shelf takedown. There is no fixed deadline.
