What is POS 8C?

POS 8C is the EDGAR type for a post-effective amendment filed under the Securities Act, or under both the Securities Act and the Investment Company Act, under Section 8(c) by closed-end investment companies. Unlike open-end funds (which use 485 amendments), closed-end funds and many BDCs update their registration statements this way.

Continuously offered closed-end funds, such as interval funds and tender offer funds, file POS 8C amendments to keep their prospectus current.

Who files

Closed-end investment companies, including interval funds and business development companies.

When it is filed
