Form N-18F-1 is the notification a registered open-end fund files to elect to rely on Investment Company Act Rule 18f-1. The rule lets a fund that may redeem in kind commit to pay redemptions in cash up to a limit for each shareholder over any 90 day period.
The election is generally irrevocable without SEC approval, so the filing records a lasting commitment about how the fund handles redemptions.
