What is 485BXT?

A 485BXT is a post-effective amendment filed under Securities Act Rule 485(b)(1)(iii) for the sole purpose of designating a new effective date for a previously filed post-effective amendment, usually a 485APOS that is still under SEC review.

Funds file them in batches when a new series or share class needs more time before launch, so a run of 485BXT filings is a useful signal that a fund launch has been pushed back.

Who files
